UAC : opening Xp File's on Vista

Hey !
I am a newbie in vista :) I am trying to open My documents from the XP HD in Vista and i get a security warning that i cannot do it..
I read that I needed to cancel UAC and I did... restarted.. and the problem still remains... I try to change the security setting of the folder and i can't... check out the Picture...
how can i bypass it ?
thanks :)
Luis.

Have you tried taking ownership of the folder? On that same tab, click Advanced > Owner > click "Edit" button under "Change owner to: > under "Change owner to: > check the box that says "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" > OK > OK > OK. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

It's a permission issue. You can take ownership of the folder, but if you are dual-booting (that is, if you also have XP will working), it will probably screw up your permissions there too.
If you're dual-booting, boot up in XP, copy what you want out of of your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\) and then they should be accessible with Vista. If you're just booting Vista (XP is no longer on your system), just take owndership of the directory.
